UNM SPIE Student Chapter Reboot Event

Please join us for an important and fun event on Wednesday, 3/29/23 from 12:30-1:30 at CHTM, Room 103 for the UNM SPIE Student Chapter Reboot Event and SPIE Elections. We will have FREE PIZZA and other refreshments.
SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, was founded in 1955 to advance light-based technologies.
Serving 255,000 constituents from 183 countries, the not-for-profit society advances emerging technologies through interdisciplinary information exchange, continuing education, publications, patent precedent, and career and professional growth.
At the UNM SPIE Student Chapter Reboot event on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, our very own OSE General Chair & CHTM Researcher, Dr. Feezell will give some brief remarks on the importance of joining professional optics associations. Dr. Maya Narayanan Kutty, Former UNM SPIE Student Chapter President and Sr. Research Scientist at CHTM will discuss briefly SPIE's mission, services, activities, and the necessary next steps to reboot the UNM SPIE Chapter.

SPIE Elections for UNM Student Chapter
The main purpose of this event will be the student chapter elections. Dr. Maya Narayanan Kutty will be overseeing the elections for the SPIE Executive Board (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) and other positions for this UNM SPIE Student Chapter. We will be holding student officer elections at this meeting in an effort to revive a strong academic, research and social organization - SPIE. For questions about participating in the elections, then contact Dr. Narayanan Kutty at mnkutty@unm.edu.
We believe this will be a fun event for all as we usher in the next generation of the UNM SPIE Student Chapter. Interested students please come!
