Abstract:

An overview and brief history of the photonic integrated circuit capability at Sandia National Laboratories.  This presentation will cover the methods for monolithic integration of photonic device components in the InP material system and will give examples of different types of photonic devices that have been developed.  Using the base photonic devices more complex circuits can be developed for which examples will be given.
